Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

  • What Do We Use Cookies For?

Adam Equipment websites use first-party cookies (created by our site) to store your preferences and help maintain your visit. In instances where log-in facilities are provided, cookies will also be used to maintain your logged-in status. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system. There is no personal data stored in any of the website cookies.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

In addition to the site-generated cookies, we use Google Analytics to anonymously track website usage so that we can identify popular areas of our site and areas where we can improve things for you. These cookies will be set from the domain.google.com. Please note that we have set our Google Analytics accounts to use IP anonymization. Please read this Google page about IP address anonymization.

In accordance with the EU cookie legislation we provide a warning that we use cookies. By continuing to use our website we take implied consent to the use of cookies. We do not gain any personal information from the cookies used on our website.

  • What Cookies Do We Use?

The cookies that we use are split into five categories: Essential, Functional, Personalization, Analytics, and Advertising & Marketing. Activation of all five cookie types guarantees the best experience when visiting the Adam Equipment website. All cookies may be disabled via your browser, however, this action may hinder the functionality of the site.

  • Essential

These cookies are considered essential to keep our website functioning correctly and maintain your security. They will be automatically applied to all users unless disabled in your browser.

Our essential cookies perform the following functions:

    • -  Record session ID for our website
    • -  Record session ID for SSL encrypted pages
    • -  Record acknowledgement of cookie notice, so we know not to show it to you again
    • -  Record if you have chosen to view this website rather than move to one more suited to your geographic region
    • -  Directing users to the correct site with the most suitable language settings

  • Functional

Functional cookies, though not essential, are key to our website running smoothly and without issues, so you have high-quality experiences on our site. Should you disable these cookies, it’s likely that some parts may not work correctly.

Our functional cookies perform the following functions:

    • -  Maintain your logged-in status when log-in facilities are provided
    • -  Remember previous quote cart and product cart contents
    • -  Allow widgets and videos to operate, when they’re not essential
    • -  Allow store locators to work

  • Personalization

Personalization cookies keep track of your interests to present content that is relevant to you. Should you disable these cookies, site content will remain generic and will not adjust to suit your interests over time.

Our personalization cookies perform the following functions:

    • -  Identify visitors
    • -  Use location or preferences to target content
    • -  Guarantee the site remains consistent after every visit
    • -  To display banners that are most relevant to you
    • -  Allow for user-generated content to be displayed

  • Analytics

These cookies are to assist us in understanding how visitors are using the site, so we know exactly how to modify and improve our content and functionality to best meet your needs.

Our analytical cookies perform the following functions:

    • -  Distinguish one visitor from another. These cookies expire after a designated period, allowing us to track return visitors.
    • -  Throttle request rate
    • -  Store user preferences
    • -  Collect website statistics and track conversion rates

  • Advertising & Marketing

These cookies assist us in understanding your interests as a visitor. This way, we will be able to present you with relevant advertisements on other websites. Should you choose to disable these cookies, your advertisements will no longer be tailored to your interests, and will be more generic.

Our advertising and marketing cookies perform the following functions:

    • -  Gather information from you on your device to display advertisements tailored to your interests
    • -  Evaluate the performance of said advertisements
    • -  Coordinate marketing campaigns across multiple devices
    • -  Sharing collected information with other advertisers
    • -  Creating user profiles
    • -  Supporting ad targeting on external websites

With the advancement of web technology over recent years we have made the decision to focus less on historical browsers and put more effort into using HTML 5 and CSS3. To this end some older browsers, including Internet Explorer less than version 9 may not function fully or display as expected. We do make efforts to make this website functional in Internet Explorer 8 for legacy Windows XP users but it may be that not all features are available. We recommend using a self-updating browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Safari.

We also endeavour to make our websites suitable for viewing on smaller screens and mobile devices. However, if you do experience any display problems or other technical issues please let us know so we can fix the problem quickly to improve the experience for everyone.

Manuals and Brochures Format

Most of our product manuals and brochures are available as downloads from this website. The publicly distributed format is .pdf . There are a number of free pdf file readers available for most operating systems, including Android and iOS for mobile.
